Computer for Education
Information and Communication Technology, especially computer and general office applications has become the teaching materials in schools. However, there are still schools that have not been able to have a computer as a learning tool. Currently there are 293,419 school (SD / MI, SMP / MTs, and SMA / MA) in the number of students throughout Indonesia with 51.3 million and 3.31 million teachers. When this comparison is a computer used by 1000 users at the school. While the government is targeting a computer for 20 users at the school, meaning it takes 2.7305 million computers for schools.
For that we Airputih Foundation receives donations that are still feasible to use a computer to forward it to our school / educational institution / learning communities that desperately need. Minimum specifications that can be donated is a computer that has a 1.2 GHz processor or above, 256 MB DDR1 memory or above, Hard Drive 40 Gb or above, RJ45 ethernet port. Mouse, keyboard, monitor and hub / switch.
We also will help the school to set up a computer lab (donated) using the Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP). And provide training materials and the basics of computer office applications Free and Open Source Sorftware. By using LTSP technology can take advantage of computers with lower specifications for computer users. LTSP technology under the General Public License (GPL) which means free to be used or distributed. More appropriate if used for education, because the GPL is allowed to be studied and improved. Morally educate not use pirated software, because LTSP is LEGAL software.
School / educational institution / learning community are entitled to receive is to have high motivation and commitment, has no computers and limited budgets. Our coverage area is in Jakarta, Depok, Bekasi, Tangerang, Bogor, Jakarta, Malang, Surabaya, Lamongan, Banda Aceh, Central Aceh, West Aceh, Jogjakarta. We have a network in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Malang and Banda Aceh to facilitate the distribution of computers.
