Airputih, an institution that encourages people to be literate information technology (IT) and made it a tool to create a strong society in Indonesia. Airputih steps to make it happen, such as by improving the ability and understanding of the IT community. Not only that, open source as a key to opening access to IT is also a cheap and easy to keep land tilled by Airputih. Socialization of the use of open source, do Airputih in cooperation with other agencies such as Ministry of Research and Technology and the Indonesian Linux Mover Foundation.

Airputih birth when there is a major disaster hit Aceh in 2004, inspired Airputih to continue developing technology disaster anticipation. One step that has been done is the creation of applications Airputih earthquake and tsunami early warning, in cooperation with BMG. The application also can be downloaded all people. Then, making the portal the disaster that occurred in all regions in Indonesia. In addition, if a disaster occurs, rapid response teams are also ready to depart Airputih to disaster areas to build the IT infrastructure and news updates from the field.

Currently Airputih also strengthen the community by providing free hosting for NGOs and communities. This facility can be used by civil society organizations engaged in humanitarian social, environment, culture and history, health, and public services. The latest thing to be done Airputih is to open offices and open source IT training to the public.

Vision:
Realizing that a strong civil society, able to play a role in the process of exchanging information and knowledge through the use of information and communication technology.

Mission:

1. Do efforts to increase human resource capacity in using information and communication technology.
2. Increasing people’s understanding of public information services through information and communication technology.
3. Undertakes research and development in information technology and communications.
4. Improving the ability of the parties involved in the disaster area in using information and communication technology for emergency response programs.
5. Build wider access for communities to be able to use information technology and facilities komunikas through open source.
