In order to strengthen the team of developers and attract new developers, the team held a workshop BlankOn Linux packaging will be offline (outside the network / offline). As one Linux distribution to community needs dikembangkankan Indonesia, BlankOn team felt the need to build community and encourage the nation’s children to contribute in its development.
The workshop was held at the Computer Laboratory Foundation Airputih, no more than 10 participants who enthusiastically followed the development of material that is guided by one of the senior developers of BlankOn Linux team Akhmat Safrudin. The workshop was divided into 3 sessions 3 times the material in pertemuan held every Friday at 19:00 PM. At the first session of the first meeting of the workshop, participants were introduced to the flow of BlankOn development, a brief explanation about the purpose of developing a Linux distribution BlankOn, other than that at this session participants will also be introduced to the development that will be used as a support in a package in the BlankOn package.
One of the materials given to participants is how to manufacture a chroot environment as an environment that will be used for the manufacture of BlankOn packages. Making chrooted environment is intended to be in the process pembuatakan package will not interfere with the desktop environment that is currently used. No doubt this material invites enthusiastic participants because the participants to interact directly with the development of devices that will be used later.
The expected outcome of this workshop to be convened in addition to recruit and strengthen the development team, encouraging the children of this nation proud of using the operating system made in the country and contributed to con-consultation to make BlankOn better again, so in the end this will make BlankOn better known , widely used, and the proud people of Indonesia.
